Co-op Test
- Signed-in players now see a CO-OP button on the main menu.
- Make a new online hero, or bring a copy of your solo hero. Your solo save is never changed.
- Online heroes are kept apart from solo heroes. Each solo hero is copied once: bringing it again gives you the same online hero.
- Host a party and share its code, or join a friend's party with their code. Up to four heroes play together.
- The host picks the difficulty for the whole party.
- The first 50 accounts to open the co-op screen join the test and keep their place. After that, the co-op screen tells new accounts that the test is full.
- Your online hero is saved on our server every minute, when the party travels and when you leave.
- Every hero gets their own loot, gold and XP. Other heroes cannot see or pick up your loot.
- When an enemy dies, every living hero within 40 metres gets the full XP, their own gold and their own roll for loot.
- An opened chest gives every hero within 40 metres their own gold and their own loot.
- Each hero sees their own stock at the blacksmith.
- You see each other move, swing, cast and draw weapons, and you fight the same enemies.
- The server checks every hit, so everyone sees the same health fall.
- Travelling to another map, such as a depth of the Broken Fortress, takes the whole party after a 10-second countdown. Anyone can stop it with the CANCEL button, or with C if C is not bound to another action.
- Each hero can use the waystones they have found. A Shadow Portal cast in the fortress takes the whole party back to town.
- If the host leaves, the party carries on, led by the hero who has been connected longest.
- Enemies have more health and hit harder for every hero in the party.
- After a lost connection or a restart, the co-op screen shows the party you are still in, so you can enter it again or leave it.
Crash Reports
- If the game closes unexpectedly, the next start asks whether to send a crash report.
- It holds the error and the log from that run, your Windows version, graphics card and install ID.
- Choose SEND or DON'T SEND. DON'T SEND drops that crash for good. Esc asks again at the next start.
- The F8 bug report can also attach the report of the last crash.
- The log in every report now leaves out your sign-in token, your computer's name and your Windows user name.
User Interface
- The full map and the minimap only show chests in places you have explored. They used to show every unopened chest through the fog.
- Key hints on screen now show the keys you have bound, not the default ones.
- The F8 bug-report panel is wider. It now lists everything a report sends: the screenshot, your text, the end of the game log, your Windows version, graphics card and install ID. It used to say that nothing else was sent.
Bug Fixes
- Loot that lands right at your feet is now picked up as the item, draught or torch it is. It could be taken as a single gold coin instead.
- With the Rusted Woodsman's Axe, your hero now steps in close enough for the blade to land, and enemies stop within its reach.
Known Issues
- Quests are not ready for co-op yet. Quest progress and quest rewards from a co-op game are not kept, for any hero. Do your quests in solo play for now.
- There is no text chat in co-op yet.
- Travelling together and rejoining after a lost connection are new. Please report anything odd with F8.
- If a co-op game server stops unexpectedly, up to about a minute of progress in that party can be lost.
- Rarely, the game can close by itself just as the studio logo ends at start-up. If it happens, start the game again.
